This is the Cellar Door for Locharburn's wines- currently Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Rosé, only 7kms from Locharburn Vineyard.
The Lazy Dog Restaurant specialises in relaxed dining & wine tasting in rural Central Otago. The breath taking mountain views ensure that LazyDog™ retains a uniquely relaxing environment, inside, or outside in the sheltered garden. And there’s space created for the kids to play too!
On arrival you will be warmly greeted by owners, Diana and Dean Harker, their son Jack, or Lazy, the pedigree huntaway dog named after the restaurant. Lazy is usually to be found lounging around but may venture out to meet you, on the short walk from the car park through to the restaurant.
The purpose designed complex is a wool 
shed-style building, with large covered veranda and outside eating area, enhanced by lovely rural landscapes, and the stunning backdrop of the St Bathans mountain range. It is enclosed within 8.2 hectares of gardens, olive grove, and a vineyard of Chenin Blanc, a wine variety popular in South Africa and planted by Dean and Diana.
Menu
Dean, the Chef, excels with menu choices ranging from hot savoury scones with pickle sauce & cheddar, tasty Platters, Risotto, a Totally Bacon BLT, Grilled Chicken & Brie Pizza, Boerewors Sausage & Mash through to mains of Pork, Lamb & Prime Hereford Fillet Steak.
Wine Tasting
The restaurant environment is purposely casual, staff are friendly and approachable. The LazyDog™ staff are locals, knowledgeable about the region and its local wines/vineyards.

Opening Hours
Hours are seasonal and subject to change, at present they are;
Open 7 days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Sunday 10.30 am until 4pm,
Thursday, Friday, Saturday 10.30am until 10pm.
Bookings are advised particularly for weekends. We would hate you to miss out on a table!
